Participants will line up based on their expected pace with rabbits up front, turtles in the middle and walkers in the back to avoid congestionon the route. We will start as a group promptly at 9:00 am.
Be sure to wear your timing chip pinned between your knee and hip on either side for an accurate time.
NOTE: ONLY SINGLE STROLLERS are allowed on this course due to route restrictions. Those lining up with double width strollers will be asked to return to their cars rather than participate in the event.
This year we are running our course clockwise which mean the 5k and 10k routes will split almost immediately after starting. The 5k runners will travel around the golf course on sidewalks and coned running lanes. This portion of the course is generally flat with a slight overall uphill grade. There will be just a couple of inclines to get you to the 5k Finish Line. Be sure to bring your filled water bottle or hydration pack as there will be no water station on the 5k route. Water will be available at the Start/Finish area.
After the 5k/10k split 10k runners will quickly find one of two sloping hills as you head to explore the Harbour Pointe/Mukilteo area. This portion of the route is on sidewalks with some paved running paths and coned running lanes as well. Eventually you'll join up with the 5k route to complete your miles and sail successfully over the Finish Line. There will be one hydration station with sealed 8 oz water bottles available to grab as you by at approximately mile 3.2. Water will also be available at the Start/Finish area.
NOTE: The elevation profiles below are a bit exaggerated. I've run both of these courses more than I can count and while they aren't flat they certainly don't have the extreme changes you see here. I promise!
NOTE: Sunshine Productions reserve the right to make last minute course adjustments as necessary to protect the health and safety of our participants, or when directed by local authorities. The final course will be plainly marked with signs, arrows and volunteers directing your way.
