And off you go ... on a Virtual Run! What the heck is a Virtual Run you ask? It's your opportunity to earn a fabulous race medal and support an important cause without committing to a specific race date. Sound interesting? Keep reading!
Simply put you get to run, walk, or skip the distance you sign up for at the time and pace that's best for you. Even better, get a group together at work, in your neighborhood, or amongst your friends. Make it a challenge or simply enjoy each others company. Do it all at once, or split the distance into smaller chunks and make it your personal relay. With so many options how can you say no?
So what's next?
Decide which distance you want to commit to: -5k - 3.1 miles or 10k - 6.2 miles. Then complete your online registration. :0)
All virtual runners will be able to print a custom race bib after registration. Obviously wearing the bib while you run is not mandatory, but it's a fun way to take part while celebrating the reasons you run. Feel free to post a picture of you wearing your bib on our Facebook page too. In fact, bib or no bib, feel free to post pictures of you and your friends during your runs!
The window to submit your 5k or 10k time will open on May 11th and remain open until midnight May 18th. When you have completed your event simply log into RunSignUp, click on your Profile, find the Inspiring Hope Run in your list of races and then click on “Submit Virtual Results” on the right hand side of the listing. From there it’s pretty self-explanatory but if you run into questions you are always welcome to drop me a note at run.mukilteo@yahoo.com. Results submitted by July 18th will be included in the official final results tally. You also have the option to just let me know that you did your miles without submitting a time using the same steps. Once results are final you will be able to print your finishers certificate too.
Medals and any purchased merchandise will begin shipping the week of May 12th.
